Membership

Membership FAQ.

The membership plan for our first release. Enrollment and member access are not available yet.

What are the requirements for Associate membership?

Applicants must pass the in-person knowledge exam on New York State government, use a valid verified member account, and pay initial dues. A valid member account serves as approval. Successful payment activates Associate membership.

What are the additional requirements for Full membership?

Full members must meet all Associate membership requirements and also be registered and verified Republicans. New Full membership will remain unavailable until registration verification is ready. Associate joining will be available first.

Do I need to take the exam before paying dues?

Yes. A recorded exam pass is required before initial payment. Your valid verified member account serves as approval; no separate owner review is required. Exam scheduling information will be added to the Knowledge exam page.

What happens if an exam pass is revoked?

If an exam pass is revoked, the organization owner must stop future automatic renewal through verified billing cancellation. Changing the exam record alone does not stop charges; refund decisions are separate.

How do I pay membership dues?

Public membership enrollment is not available yet. When it opens, applicants with a recorded exam pass and a valid verified member account will pay through NationBuilder. Dues are $60 USD per year and renew automatically until canceled.

Do Associate members need verified Republican registration?

No. Verified Republican registration is an additional requirement for Full membership. Associate membership requires a recorded exam pass, a valid verified member account, and annual dues.

What happens if I cancel automatic renewal?

Under the planned membership policy, cancellation stops future renewal charges. Your membership continues through the period you have already paid for, and you keep your login and membership history.

Can I turn automatic renewal back on after canceling?

For the first version, you must wait until your paid membership period expires. You can then sign in to the same account and restart yourself, provided your exam result and account remain valid. A successful restart payment begins a full new year; your original joining date stays unchanged. You cannot restore renewal or pay for a restart before expiry.

What happens if an automatic annual renewal payment fails?

You will have 14 days from the end of your paid membership period to fix payment before membership lapses. Your login, exam result and history remain available. If a payment is still being retried or checked, update the existing payment method rather than start a second subscription. This grace period does not apply when you voluntarily cancel renewal.

Can I get a refund?

Normally, canceling stops future renewal and preserves the period already paid for. Full refunds are reserved for duplicate or mistaken charges and exceptions approved by the organization owner. Refunds are handled separately from cancellation.

Can I use member access?

Member access is coming soon and is not available yet.
